Outline
This course comprises units on various Counselling approaches e.g., person-centred, cognitive and psychoanalytical. The course will also focus on ethical considerations such as confidentiality and empowering the individual. Students will also explore the importance of effective communication and appropriate behaviours.
Progression
Following successful completion of the course, students will have the opportunity to progress on to an appropriate Level 3 Access course which will prepare them for a related university course, for example,inpsychology, counselling and /or psychotherapy.Assessment
Assessment will take place in the form of coursework e.g., essays/role play/case studies
Entry Requirements
In order to progress on to the Access course, students should have GCSEs in maths and English or equivalent. Applicants who do not have these qualifications will have the opportunity to study for these alongside the counselling course.
