Throughout the year, staff and students are actively encouraged to get involved in all that is happening in the technological industry. One example of the many events that happen is the annual Girls in IT celebration held at the University Centre each year. The event aims to encourage women to get into the ever-developing world of coding. Games designers will learn how to code, prototype, programme, develop, and design 2D and 3D games, learning how to use a variety of software and virtual reality technology.
Students will also have the opportunity to work in state-of-the-art facilities, in the heart of MediaCityUK. The University Centre have invested in their facilities and equipment, including the latest virtual reality technology and mac computer suites.
Kashaf Tauseef, a HNC Computing Student at The University Centre, explained: “I chose to study at The University Centre at Salford City College because I found a higher education course that allowed me to carry on my studies, whilst staying on at the college that I loved. I like that the teachers spend a lot of time with students and help them make the right decisions regarding their future.”
