Student finance England – Full time students can apply for a tuition loan of up to £9,250 per year and for a maintenance loan of up to £8,700 per year depending on household income. You will not start re-paying until the April after graduation and when you start earning £25,000 per year. Maintenance Loan – University living costs include accommodation, utilities, travel, food, stationery and any course materials. To help you with these costs, you may be entitled to apply for a maintenance loan. This is a means tested loan and will take a number of factors into consideration including: . Household income: this is the total gross income of the students’ parent(s), caregivers, or spouse living in the household in which the student lives. Students with a dependent child/ren or spouse may also be entitled to extra funding to support them such as a Childcare Grant, Parents Learning Allowance, or an Adult Dependant’s Grant. You apply for your maintenance loan at the same time as your tuition fee loan and it is paid directly into your bank account in three instalments. The first instalments will be paid once you attendance at the University Centre has been confirmed.
